Vestal by Zip – The Vestal Story

Water. It’s the most universally consumed beverage on the planet, and generates a staggering amount of waste. Vestal was founded in 2008, with the simple intention to provide an alternative to bottled water that is sustainable, economical and could support the hospitality and tourism industry to reduce its impact on the planet.

“Perfection is not achieved when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away,” said comte de Saint-Exupéry Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger, a French writer, poet, aristocrat, journalist, and pioneering aviator. His simple, eloquent statement informed and inspired Vestal’s philosophy to provide premium still and sparkling water, without the waste.

Driven by environmental, social and economic sustainability, Vestal prototypes were designed and built, enthusiastically trialled by a handful of innovative, brave early adopters in Vestal’s home state of Tasmania.

Vestal grew rapidly, maintaining its purpose of providing clients with the highest quality products and service, while supporting them to achieving both financial and environmental results. Today, Vestal Water is proudly served in many of Australia’s most iconic restaurants, hotels, businesses and institutions and can be found in every state and territory, including a number of offshore islands.

The Vestal brand was inspired by the Roman priestesses of Vesta, also known as the Vestal Virgins. The logo evoking a female form holding an urn pouring water, pays homage to these holy and devoted women. Their ritual tasks included two sacred duties; drawing water from a sacred spring, and keeping the eternal flame burning. These acts spur Vestal to continue to offer clean, pure-tasting water, from the source, for the enjoyment of our clients and their customers.
